A consultation with the orthopaedist is important in case of back, hip, knee or ankle problems. The symptoms that push you to go to an orthopaedic doctor are:
Difficulty performing simple activities such as climbing stairs or carrying shopping bags
Muscle, tendon or joint pain that lasts for more than a few days
Joint pain that becomes more intense with rest
Swelling or formation of bruises at the level of the joints or following trauma
Limitation of the possibilities of movement, for example difficulty keeping your back straight
Joint deformity
Signs of infections such as inflammation and warming of the affected area, fever and redness
Any abnormal symptom in a part of the body affected by pain.
